What We do

Hackney Shed Young Company is for 14 - 19 year olds who want to learn:

Acting (Film and Stage) Script Writing Directing Audition Techniques
Improv and Devising

Young Company members are given the opportunity to design the next project each term.

When & Where

Autumn Term 2025:

Through October, young people will collaborate on Waitress, a musical theatre project. Together, we’ll create our own small-town American diner, brought to life with upbeat, pop-influenced songs and a slice of quirky humour.

Spring Term 2025:

From Jan-Feb we run a 6 week film project where young people devise and shoot their own short film.  Young people can choose to focus more on acting, writing or directing at this stage.

Summer Term 2025:

In May/June we run a 5 week project in designed by young company in the Spring term.

Cost: We ask for a donation of £25 per term which can be paid at any time. We offer alternative payment options if costs cannot be covered at any time.
