Hackney Shed’s Filmmaking project: “A Frame of Mind

Doors open. In these changing streets I move through to find everyday moments and people. But replay those moments once more, for not all you saw was to be believed.

Memory shifts, fragments and reassembles over time. What does it mean when two people remember the same thing differently? If you don’t remember something, did it really happen? And where do dreams and memories begin to blur?

In this project, young people explored the theme of Memory to create original stories for camera. Through six collaborative evening workshops and a one-day shoot at the historic Hoxton Hall, participants worked alongside a professional director, actor and filmmaker to devise and perform an entirely new short film.

This is a collaboration between Hackney Shed and Odd Eyes Theatre, spotlighting emerging voices and collective storytelling.
