Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

Hackney Shed - Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014! It's been an exciting year for us!  We put on a fantastic summer production - The crazily named 'Where the Wild Things Are, Alex's Adventures in Wonderland' was a visual spectacular, featuring both our Children's Theatre and Youth Theatre.  As well as celebrating our success it was also sad to say goodbye to Terry O'Donovan, a longstanding member of our team and Hackney Sheds director.  Before he left he assisted with the recruitment of Vicki Hambley, who joined us in September.  Since then we have this brand spanking new website, and a brand spanking new group for 16-19 year old's!

We finished the year with two fantastic performance pieces and the making of a mini movie!  Children's Theatre presented their version of 'The Jabberwocky' poem, with Bandersnatches and Vorpel swords galore!  The Youth Theatre spooked us with their performance of the eerie poem 'The Raven', and despite a last minute change of venue for the opening scene they did a fantastic job.  More images of these performances can be found in our gallery and on our Facebook page.  Hackney Shed Plus put the finishing touches to their own mini feature film, watch this space to see the final cut!

Children's Theatre and Youth Theatre start their new term on 14th January.  For more details on what Hackney Shed plus are up to please contact sarah@hackneyshed.org.uk

Look out for more information coming soon about our involvement in the Discover Young Hackney Festival 2014, among other exciting things!

We currently have some available spaces in all our groups, so get in touch now to find out about joining us in 2014 - It's going to be another good one!
